Coral Springs, Florida- January 23, 2010- Coral Spring High School’s drama club, known as Colt Theatre, is hosting a fundraiser to help send 33 students to the Florida State Thespian Festival in April.
The Colt Garage Sale, inspired by the Swap Shop in Sunrise, Florida, will be held in the student parking lot located in the rear of Coral Springs High School. The community is encouraged to purchase parking lot spaces at $25 each to sell their own items for profit, or to donate items for the club to sell.
The event will take place on Saturday, Jan. 23rd. Set up for those who have purchased selling space will begin at 6 A.M. and sales are scheduled to begin at 7 A.M and end in the early afternoon.
Colt Theatre was selected to perform their superior-rated One-Act, Little Red Riding Hood (and the Power Mutants) at the state festival in April. The thirty-three cast and crew members are excited to go but cannot afford the pricey cost of the week-long festival held in Tampa, Florida.
Other performances for the state festival by Colt Theatre include monologue selections from Jordan Cohen and Arielle Hoffman, Publicity from Briana Rittersporn, Costume Construction from Linda Navamuel, Student Direction from Arielle Hoffman, and Duet Acting from Jessica DeFreitas and Talia Varone.
This garage sale is one of several fundraisers set up by the club to raise enough money to send all of the qualifying students to the state festival.

Colt Theatre is a non-profit high school extracurricular organization in which students show their creativity through the performances of plays and musicals as well as competing in district and state festivals.
