I am a 43 year old woman seeking a large room for the end of June/beginning of July in South Austin OR downtown. The room should be at least 12 X 12 and have ample closet space and the apartment or house should have more than one bathroom. Ideally, I would love to find a room with a walk in closet and my own bathroom, but I realize that this is not so easy to come by. Hopefully, the place has a dishwasher and it must have a washer and dryer in the building, if not in the apartment itself. Also, a bathtub is a must. I just lived in a place with a stand up shower only and it was unbearable. You should also be close to public transportation. I have a sweet male cat, so you must be ok with cats as well. Real hardwood floors (not parquet) are preferable.
I'm hoping to live in a place with more than one other person (the more the merrier) because I don't know a soul in Austin. I believe in open communication. If there is an issue in the house it should be discussed immediately, not swept under the rug until someone explodes. This is the only way to achieve peaceful coexistence in my opinion so if you are some passive/aggressive type who is incapable of being direct (while hopefully at the same time tactful) it probably won't work out. I get along better with politically and socially progressive types, which I don't imagine will be too hard to find in Austin.
My interests include, politics, history, salsa dancing, all kinds of music (esp. love Latin rock) indie and foreign film, animals, and home improvement. My ideal relationship with my roomies would be friendship without co-dependence.
I can pay up to $500 inclusive (heat/AC/wifi/cable/etc.-obviously the cheaper the better), possibly up to $600 if the place is really exceptional. If you think you might have something that interests me. I’d love to hear from you. Please include pics.
