Motivational Speakers and Vendors will help guide attendees in their choice to home educate.
Nevada Homeschool Network is hosting their annual convention Friday June 20th, 10am-8pm and Saturday June21st, 9am-5pm, for anyone interested in education. The convention will be held at the UNLV Student Union Building, 4505 Maryland Parkway. Nationally known speakers,Tracy Klicka and Dan Sinclair, will motivate those just beginning and reinvigorate the experienced. Stewart Rhodes, graduate of Yale Law School, will also be presenting on The Constitution and The Bill of Rights..
There will be workshops designed to guide attendees in meeting their child’s academic needs and talents, in learning more about different educational philosophies, the laws, and how to get started. There will also be workshops more geared towards veteran homeschoolers with topics such as homeschooling through high school, and encouragement for this undertaking.
Friday, the exhibitor hall will feature a Used Curriculum sale, with gently used curriculum and supplements to be used in homeschooling. Saturday, the same hall will feature Vendors with new curriculum and various Community Resources, designed to help families in their homeschooling journey.
Tickets may be bought at the door, and are $20 per single and $35 per couple. There is a $5 discount for a paid NHN membership.
In an effort to educate elected officials and policy makers about homeschooling, we will offer complimentary passes for all social workers, elected officials, school district administrators, superintendents, State Board of Ed members, School Board Trustees, family court judges, and anyone running for an elected position.
