PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Fit up metal components to set standards that are fabricated, cast, and forged that are used to assemble structural forms, such as tanks, vessel, skids, buildings, enclosures for machinery and motors, and Components of drilling rig structure.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
* Use hoisting equipment for raising and lowering structural steel components to place in position for cutting and welding.
* Pulls, pushes, or pry steel components into approximate position while member is supported by hoisting device.
* Forces components into final position, using crowbars, jacks and hand tools.
* Verifies vertical and horizontal alignment of components using cutting torch.
* Cuts steel components to make alterations using cutting torch.
* May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts using cutting torch and tools.
* Layout, fabricate, assemble and install piping and piping systems.
* Plan and coordinate daily work with limited supervision.
