My name is Mandy; I have worked for years as a preschool teacher for one of the most prestigious private preschools on the upper eastside, and I bring the same program and philosophy I learned there to Building Blocks Playgroup. I feel that with my accumulated experience, background and education in child development, I have a great deal to offer for your child's education.
I'm a native of England, raised and educated in North Wales. I received my degree with honors in Early Childhood Education in the U.S.,and before I became a Preschool Teacher I worked for 12 years as an English Nanny for Manhattan families.
I and my head teachers and our assistants, will be conducting special lessons and projects where the children will learn through several mediums such as cooking classes, science exploration and arts and crafts, as well as daily early reading and math.
Though we prefer to accept children at least 18 months of age, we will consider children as young as 15 months on a case by case basis.
I value and understand how important individual care and small group size are to the education and well being of children, so I maintain a very low student to teacher ratio. I feel I have truly created the perfect nurturing environment for your children to be cared for, and educated in.
Building Blocks Playgroup alumni regular graduate into some of the finest private and public grammar schools in the area.
Developmental Progress Reports and Letters of Recommendation as well as admission assistance for entrance to the more exclusive private schools are provided to graduating children to facilitate the enrollment process.
