I am an experienced tutor for learners of all ages. I am available to help students with grammar/language, math (through geometry and algebra), science, study skills, and test prep (including SAT, ACT, GED, ASVAB, & others).

I am a state certified teacher, and hold an American Montessori Society teaching credential. I have spent the past 15 years teaching and tutoring students (ranging from toddlers through adults), in almost every imaginable educational setting: one-on-one tutoring, private schools, public schools, Montessori schools, tutoring centers, teacher-education centers… even the education department of the zoo!

I am dedicated, passionate, reliable, creative, and professional. In my tutoring, I use a variety of modes of learning, and many hands-on manipulative materials. I often use Montessori materials with students (even those who have never experienced Montessori education before) because of their amazing capacity to help students - no matter how old! – to really UNDERSTAND the concepts, rather than just ‘memorizing the steps to get the answer’ that textbooks often teach.

I am available to meet with students at their house, my house, or a neutral location (such as a library). My rate can be as low as $20 / hour, depending on the location of tutoring and the number of hours scheduled per week.
