general description: research program coordinator will work closely with hopkins investigators in supporting the day-to-day operations of the pneumonia etiology research for child health (perch) study. johns hopkins university policy is that individuals will be placed off work without pay between the two doses.assists team in preparing annual reports and meeting materials. works with perch administrative coordinator in organizing events and meetings at both domestic & international venues. some related experience.

preferred qualifications: experience with submiting irb applications and procedures/policies preferred.assists in preparing irb annual renewal requests, amendments and adverse event reports. experience with sharepoint/inter-office networking systems a plus. the perch project is a multi-country case-control research study of patients under five years of age and hospitalized with severe lower respiratory tract illnesses to determine the etiology and risk factors associated with the syndrome. additional experience may substitute for education. internal-ivac team and irb external-project sites, consultants and independent contractors. fax machine, and teleconferencing setup, operates computer, copier, printer. position end date 12/31/2013

qualifications: bachelor\'s degree in a health/life science or related discipline. knowledge of microsoft word, outlook, access and excel. requires excellent time management skills in order to work on several tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines. maintains regulatory binders for each perch site. this position will involve working with investigators at jhsph and at the sites. has working knowledge of and complies with good clinical practices & ich guidelines. any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our occupational health office. interest or experience in public health/research in developing countries. some international travel may be required.kenya, zambia, the gambia, mali, bangladesh, and thailand, the proposed study sites are in south africa.additional education may substitute for experience. works with project coordinators in monitoring study data (some analysis work may be included). participates in weekly meetings to update perch team on regulatory & site specific issues. performing other research/project related activities as assigned meets with research team on a regular basis and participate in troubleshooting and resolving issues. please be aware that should you require vaccination for chicken pox, the vaccine is administered in two doses given six weeks apart. irb application tracking and coordination. prepares meeting summaries and notes.
