Primary Job Responsibilities
The Customer Intelligence Manager will report into a newly formed Marketing Strategy & Planning team for eBay’s North America Marketplace. The main focus of this role will be to take data from multiple internal and external sources and analyze it to generate ‘customer intelligence’ for the Marketing Strategy & Planning and Customer Insights teams. The role will require strong project management skills, the ability to work well with cross functional teams and passion for data to drive actionable and concrete outcomes. Specific responsibilities include:
Customer Intelligence Related Responsibilities:
· Create from scratch a Customer Intelligence portal and monthly Newsletter that will be shared across eBay NA Marketplaces that houses relevant customer insights about eBay and competitors, share of wallet, marketing campaigns, trends and behaviors related to Social, Local, Mobile and Digital for various internal stakeholders to access
· Constant improvement and maintenance of the portal and pulling information from industry reports, market research surveys, focus groups, internal databases and external sources
· Requires hands-on knowledge of data analysis and synthesis techniques, business and marketing metrics, campaign analysis, and how to construct a dashboard with customer and business intelligence information that drive effective business and marketing decisions
· Support cross functional teams under the Senior Director of Marketing Strategy - Marketing Strategy & Planning, Customer Insights, Mobile and Social Marketing - on various operational, analytical and data visualization type of projects
o Support the team via ad hoc analysis, reporting and data extractions from data warehouse and syndicated reports
o Automate the Integrated Marketing calendar that is currently a manual process in excel
· Manage relationships and contracts with vendors for syndicated reports, secondary research and external databases
Job Requirements
The successful candidate will possess a strong background in project management, business systems analysis and process oriented skills, including knowledge of project management software tools and management techniques. Specific skills include:
· +7 years of experience
· 5+ years experience in a project management function
· Experience in data analytics and data visualization – turning data into actionable insights
· Strong SQL skills required
· Ability to communicate verbally and in writing complex design, technical, business and product issues clearly and succinctly. Strong communication skills are critical in this role.
· Ability to work well with varying levels of management
· Experience and comfort working on global projects
· Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize as critical tests evolve
· Perform and understand cost/benefit analysis, and trade-offs for an issue, project, etc.
· Ability to function effectively in a fast paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
· Proficient in PowerPoint, Visio, Word and Excel
· BS degree in a technology-related field and MBA are highly preferred. Experience in the e-commerce industry is preferred.
