Position Summary:
Product Manager
Day-Timer a division of ACCO Brands Corporation, one of the world\'s largest suppliers of branded office products, with annual revenues of nearly $2 billion, is seeking a New Product Development/Marketing Manager. This means we need a talented individual like you to join this great organization and be part of the Day-Timer Team located in East Texas, PA (suburban Philadelphia).
The Product Manager role is a global opportunity . We are seeking a talented individual who is capable of planning and executing a financially viable new product development plan for Day-Timer at a strategic and tactical level; with primary emphasis on products outside the traditional printed Day-Timer products. This includes but not limited to stand alone mobile applications, text, web, voice and consumer electronics and/or bridging to paper solutions. The product manager must have a strong technical background and should be able to demonstrate their experience in digital field. Through knowledge of consumers and marketplace, he/she will leverage the brand and create competitive differentiation by using new digital technologies and partnering with licensors/vendors to develop products, apps and services to meet today\'s consumer needs and add value to their lives.
Working in a fast pace environment and leading internal and external teams, he/she will ensure that well defined new products drive new customer acquisition across all sales channel (Direct and Wholesale) leveraging diverse marketing techniques (i.e. internet, catalog and on-shelf retail) and for all global markets (NA, UK and AU) and deliver sales and profit
growth.
Position Qualifications:
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES
* Develop products within cutting edge multimodalarena which includes but not limited to Mobile apps (iPhone, Android, RIM, WebOS), Text, Voice and Web Strong mobile and consumer electronics industry background is a must
* Strong understanding of various technology trends and interworking with carriers and device makers
* Develop product marketing models beyond today\'s experience (i.e. licensing royalty, sponsorship, revenue sharing business arrangements).
* Strong working Knowledge and Understanding of consumer habits, behaviors and competitive options to carve out DT \"Blue Ocean\" business opportunities.
* Manage projects at various stages from concept to handoff.
* Create financially viable new revenue streams consistent with DT Strategic Plan to leverage brand equity.
* Go beyond \"core\" focus by customer segment, product and service.
* Expand and enhance brand vision based on consumer needs.
* Develop the methodology to cost effectively and test, and prototype, to successfully launch product marketing initiatives.
* Determine Marketing, Financial and Operational Resources required throughout the company to facilitate success.
* Support the Director, Product Management and Marketing in his leadership role in Corporate Strategic Planning Process.
* Create P&Lresultsmodel; with both vertical and horizontal accountability.
* Focus on end consumer behavior and the ability to enhance their lives.
* Negotiate contracts, manage timelines and maintain a high level of visibility within the company.
* Passionate, confident, and accountability in driving \"new Big ideas.\"
* Create operating contribution growth which will be consistent with end consumers across all channels and markets through the development of products, services and partnerships.
* Ability to accurately predict and deliver results consistent with business plans.
* Measure and manage new product development investments.
* Establish Brand positioning & competitive differentiation platforms in order to win against the competition and deliver unique benefits.
EXPERIENCE
* Minimum of 5+ years experience in product development and Strategic Marketing is required
* Four-year degree in Marketing/Business Administration or related field is required. Preferred MBA. Engineering degree a “plus”
* Proven past experience in launching of multimodal(Mobile apps, text, web and voice integrated) products is a requirement.
* Must demonstrate experience in developing products within Mobile App. environment (iPhone, ANdroid, RIM, WebOS) and/or following Voice (speech to text), SMS, and web 2.0 technologies.
* Must have proven experiencemanaging the product development process and product management lifecycle (ideation to implementation and Launch).
* Vendor management experience is required, as is an ability to conduct complex negotiations
* Must have proven experience in Marketing analytics and benchmarking
* Experience with Licensing is preferred.
* Proven past experience with Top consumer brands, an electronic component is required.
* Demonstrated creativity and milestone project management is required
* Proven experience drawing from segmentation analysis and translating information into executable plans
* Strong experience in mobile application and/or consumer electronic industry
* A market research background is required
* Must have the ability to successfully manage several initiatives and/or projects simultaneously
* Self motivation and attention to detail is required
* Ability to flourish in a fast-paced environment is required
* Strong analytical skills are required
* This position requires excellent written and verbal skills, able to present ideas and products to various groups in the organization; Leadership skills particularly of cross-functional teams
* Solid computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) for data analysis, research, communication, presentations, database software and web knowledge a plus
* Has experience linking Strategic New Product Vision to Channel Marketing plans.
