an associate\'\'s respiartory thearpy or related field; and one (1) year of high critical care and pediatric experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. recongizes abnormal changes and immediately notifies physician.performs respiratory therapy assessments according to department
procedures. according to the needs of the organization, some incumbents in this job class may be required to obtain additional specific technical certifications.
adjusts equimpent as needed. logs data into pateint
information systems, maintains patient charts, enters diagnosis and billing codes, and updates file systems for tests and treatments performed.
evaluates test results for clarity and accuracy; reviews tests with peers. anmc is not a latex free environment.
skill in assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands.distributes completed test results to
physicians and service providers. allied health professionals and medical students, orients and recommends respiratory care and procedures to
medical staff, instructs.trains and cross-trains other clinical staff as required.
cleans and sterilizes equimpent and work space.
maintains competency and certification on all current and new procedures and equipment related to delivery of
knolwedge of anaotmy/physoilogy and disaese proecss.
knolwedge of respiratory therapy patient assessment protcools.recognizes equipment malfucntions and readujsts equipment or
reefrs for repair.
maintains secure and patent airways and performs nasal, nasotracheal, endotracheal and oral suctioning. ensures delivery of clinically
appropriate respiratory care procedures. may be occasionally exposed to hazardous materials or infectious diseases. provides patient education and
instruction and answers questions and explains procedures.administers respiratory treatment in various modalities for acute and chronic respiratory illness as
prescribed by the medical staff for neonate, adolescent and adult patients, pediatric.some latex exposure can be expected, therefore.may occasionally be exposed to infectious diseases. us,
skill in interpersonal relationships.neonatal/pediatric resuscitation, must be registered or registry eligible by the national board of respiratory care, and certified in advanced cardiac life support.
knowledge of respiratory therapy equipment.monitors patient on mechanical ventilation and oxygen support systems for
potentially dangerous physical changes. carry, pull or push approximately 50 pounds, must be able to lift.
skill in monitoring patient responses.
skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications.
