extensive knowledge of performance optimization for both sql server configuration and sql code tuning using os performance monitors, windows clustering, and run books for the operational platform
is responsible for all maojr database compnoents of sql server and has strong knowledge of the varoius interreltaionships betewen maojr sytsem compnoents inclduing netwroking, and dissater recvoery techonlogy
is consdiered by peres to be a subejct matter exeprt knowlegdeable on major components supproted by the team as well as by other techincal support stfaf such that the seinor dba is able to opearte with little superivsion and minmial techincal guiadnce
has thoorugh knowledge of adminitsrative and techincal resoruces available and a demonstrated ability to use those resources for problem determination, index and statistics maintenance plans, and udp networking infrastructure
strong knowledge of multi-instance and multi-server automation techniques such as system scripting, cell level and database level encryption, and vendor tools
strong knowledge of san attached storage, storage, wait and queue system dmvs, tcp, and policy based management
knowledge of, and other technical issues related to the sql server components being administered
executes and provides feedback on the tactical architecture's implementation as defined by the team manager under the guidance of team roadmaps
requirements:
minimum of 5 years conducting general database administration tasks such as database and database server implementations, product enhancements, backups, database mirroring, multi-master and multi-subscriber replication administration, monitoring, operating system, and query plan dmvs, creation of db authentication principals, and vendor tools
extensive knowledge of troubleshooting techniques using system logs, unattended execution, windows server 2003 and 2008, application code, sql server statistics, and system troubleshooting
at least 2 years administering database platform specific advanced features such as sql clustering, cluster, system and query performance tuning, database encryption, system troubleshooting, and other tasks as assigned or expected from dbas
participates in the on-call rotation for supporting the operational platform
executes project and internal initiative responsibilities as assigned or delegated
authors and maintains operational documentation, cluster logs, active directory authentication, and ip, log shipping, system metadata catalogs, and heterogeneous oledb and odbc data source integration
extensive knowledge of platform specific advanced database features such as sql clustering, ssis etl, event logs, best practices, backups, index, performance tuning, code deployments,
supports day to day operational duties for the database platform such as service requests and tickets, enhanced logging configurations for related subsystems, ssis infrastructure administration, server, authentication.assurant has approximately $27 billion in assets and $8 billion in annual revenue.
