Position Summary:
ACCO Brands Corporation, one of the world\'s largest suppliers of branded office products, with annual revenues of nearly $1.5 billion, is seeking an Engineering and Quality Manager to work in Boonville, Mississippi. Responsibilities:
• Evaluates all manufacturing processes with the goal of continuously improving process capability, equipment utilization, and product quality.
• Works closely with corporate engineering to ensure alignment with corporate initiatives working toward common processes, equipment & practices.
• Design and implement new equipment and manufacturing processes to increase production efficiency.
• Ability to develop and write equipment specifications, performance requirements, and proposals for integrating machinery/equipment into daily manufacturing process.
• Works daily with manufacturing and operations personnel to develop/document standard work methods in support of the efficient utilization of space, equipment, material, and product flow.
• Approximates production times and staffing requirements in order to create bill of material structures / labor routings that ensure the accurate development of standard cost data.
• Applies statistical methods to evaluate manufacturing capabilities and future potential.
• Identifies and corrects safety and ergonomic concerns to insure a productive and safe work environment.
• Works closely with corporate quality assurance to ensure that robust quality systems are aligned, developed, and maintained at the plant level.
• Leads local quality assurance in resolving quality concerns, tracking quality trends, and recommending/implementing long term plans to improve quality and production efficiency.
• Works closely with Product Generation during new product introductions to incorporate Design for Manufacturing thoughts into initial process development.
• Proactively participates with suppliers on the determination of product specifications and delivery.
• Implements Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma processes in support of waste reduction, process reliability and quality improvement.
• Applies excellent project management and business acumen skills in arranging for the justification, procurement and installation of capital equipment.
Position Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Quality Engineering required.
• Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in quality and mechanical engineering in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is required.
•Experience with Six Sigma methodology and lean manufacturing highly desired.
•Experience building an engineering department that is production quality driven is highly desired.
•Proven experience with lean manufacturing techniques and processes is required.
•Ability to work across the matrix, working with different groups to introduce new product lines based on manufacturing needs and priorities is required.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership and change management skills.
• Ability to teach and apply Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma techniques.
• Black Belt / Green Belt / Lean Manufacturing Certification a plus.
• Excellent project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
• Strategic thinker with proven problem solving and analytical ability.
• Proficiency utilizing MS Office applications, and MS Project. Previous AUTOCAD experience a plus.
