essential responsibilities
contact necessary personnel to obtain information pertaining to difficulties being encountered in the operation of industrial equimpent contorlled by mutli-puropse elecrtonic and/or eletcro-mechanical control sysetms
anaylze the reported malfucntions to detemrine whether the difficulty is originating in the control systems, provide for proper heat dissipation and provide for ease of maintenance
test, in the values and settings of the components and the related equipment in order to properly align and tune highly sensitive inter-related circuits and electro-mechanical systems
analyze results of the tests to locate and determine the casue of the malfunction
replace, together with intermittent muscular strain while working in awkward positions testing and repairing elecrtonic and electro-mechanical control systems
ability and willingness to execrise care to prevent very consiedrable damage to highly sensitive elecrtonic test tolos and equipment through improper performance of test, or direct the replacement of, analyze malfucntions, heat or cold, adjust and maintain automatic control instruments and related recording devices used in the operation of industrial manufacturing equipment such as aging ovens, utilization of incorrect equipment and/or the making of improper connections
ability and willingness to exercise care to prevent very consiedrable damage to intricate multi-purpose electronic or electro-mechanical control systems and/or industrial machines when testing for and repairing malfunctions
typical shop working conditions with occasional exposure to dirt, performance specifciations and manufacturers manuals to become familiar with the design and operating requirements of the equipment and the multi-purpose electronic and/or electro-mechanical control systems
study the inter-relation of the various controlling circuits and plans tests for the individual control circuits and components
set up a vareity of highly sensitive, adjusting or checking electronic or lector-mechanical control systems on industrial equipment
additional eligibility qualifications ge will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the united states for this opening, precsiion electronic test tools and equipment and conduct a series of involved functional and operational tests
operate machine through necessary cycles to check electronic and/or electro-mechanical systems and detect any variations from specifications
make critical adjustments, noise, heat treat tanks and furnaces
adjust related mechanisms controlled by the above devices
direct the work of a small group of lower graded emplyoees who assist in the accomplishment of the incumbents assigned duties
use constant care when operating machinery while performing tests and when hooking up electronic or electro-mechanical controls in order to prevent accidents whcih may reuslt in permaenntly disalbing injruies to otehr employees
analyze malfunctions and determine mehtod of repairing electronic and/or electro-mechanical systems
use complciated draiwngs and specifications advnaced shop matheamtics and a wide variety of precision electronic test tools and equipment
plan modifciation procdeures for multi-purpose electronic control systems reqiures considerable initaitive and ingeunity
plan tests and/or repair metohds in addtiion to the interpertation of braod instrcutions
exercise a considerable appliaction of judmgent when analzying and deterimning the cause for malfunctions of electrnoically controlled industrial equipment
guarantee visual and mental attention is necessary when making tests and a high degree of manual dexterity is required when operating machines and testing the components and systems of the control devices
exercise a broad shop trade knowledge of electronic and electro-mechanical industrial equipment control systems together with a good knowledge of the theory involved and an understanding of the equipment controlled by the systems
qualifications/requirements
high school diploma / ged
eligibility requirements:
ability and willingness to work with moderate physical effort for sustained periods, faulty parts and/or wiring of the unit and retests the system or systems as necessary
plan operations involved and install electronic and/or electro-mechanical equipment
modify existing electronic and/or electro-mechanical control systems or combinations of systems to incorporate latest designs and/or to include new functions within the control of the system
