Responsibilities:
The Planning Manager will be responsible for the planning and procurement of purchased finished goods, global vendor partnerships, and logistics activities that support inventory, service and costing targets for our office products in retail, commercial & direct channels. In this role, you will report to the Director of Supply Chain, and manage the purchased finished goods inventory requirements to maximize inventory investment and maintain a high level of customer service, achieving fill-rates 95% (consistently high customer fill rates) and consistently high LOTC (lines on time complete).
You will support marketing and new product development areas with the launch of new items and/or product lines. You will establish and manage an inventory plan and service targets, direct the management of the planning functions, and prepare and distribute service reports to internal customers. You will also gain an understanding of and utilize the ACCO planning and purchasing systems and distribution network, report on inventory levels monthly & understand the replenishment procedures.
Position Qualifications:
* A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (MBA’s preferred).
* A minimum of 5 years experience is required (9 or more years preferred).
* Supply Chain Planning and Production Planning experience required. Comprehensive understanding of Supply Chain management and all its components. (APICS certification is highly desired).
* Managerial experience required (preference will be given to candidates who have managed a minimum of 4 people) with the ability to direct/motivate subordinates.
* Finished Goods required (sourcing experience internationally/from Asia preferred).
* Candidates with project management experience highly desired.
* Excellent spreadsheet (EXCEL) skills and experience manipulating and analyzing high volumes of data. Database skills (ACCESS, SQL, Oracle) preferred
* Must have experience with Planning Systems: Manugistics preferred or similar planning tools: SAP, Peoplesoft, BPCS, Oracle or similiar ERP system
* Outstanding communication skills (written/verbal), strong analytical skills, and the ability to work in a team based/collaborative environment.
* Demonstrated ability to manage total costs: implement, lead and execute process improvements.
* Ability to travel (less than 10%).
* Preference will be given to candidates with change management/change leadership experience.
