Basic Function:
The Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting & Consolidation is responsibleto bring Together all the General Ledgers world wide and Arrive at Corporate View and perform Corporate Accounting functions.The position requires a highly motivated individual with a proven background in Corporate Accounting and Group Consolidation. The position also requires a fundamental knowledge and experience with general accounting, month end close procedures, eliminations and consolidations, accounting policy/concepts, controls, analytics, foreign currency issues and working with external auditors. This position reports to the Director of Financial Reporting.
The position requires working closely with the Corporate Transaction Accounting group and Global Territory and Business Unit Controllers and their teams to ensure world wide Trial Balances are validated prior to consolidation, Intercompany transactions are matched accordingly, eliminations and foreign exchange entries are booked, Corporate Allocations are run successfully and accurately, and any GAAP & IFRS adjustments entries are executed. This person will be expected to lead the coordination and consolidation for all monthly and periodic financial reporting deliverables and the integrity of the world wide general ledger.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure integrity of global account balances as a matter of course and in connection with Management, SEC & IFRS reporting
reviews.
- Manage monthly global accounting closes including preparation and communication of global close calendars, coordinating upload
of monthly trial balances, monitoring close progression and acting as the global point person for related inquiries.
- Review Corporate Balance Sheet and ensure regional / territories Balance Sheet reconciliations are completed timely and in
accordance with SO X
- Manage accounting entries for Corporate transactions, e.g. bonus accruals, global FX, global intercompany, etc.
- Perform accounting functions for International Holdings Company
- Be the point person for accounting policy interpretations for the territories and business units
- Manage global translation/consolidation process and Hyperion actuals loads in accordance with close calendar.
- Coordinate and review of monthly global reporting packages.
- Coordinate and review group and corporate intercompany eliminations and reconciliations. Ensure compliance with global
entrepreneur structure. Perform global intercompany and elimination reconciliation.
- Generate and process Corporate allocations, review for accuracy and completeness, support explanations to business unit and
territory management.
- Record and manage disposition of quarterly top-side entries.
- Manage daily and period FX rate processes and monitor compliance with current FX policies. Recommend process/policy
changes as needed.
- Participate as a key stakeholder in all Oracle-related activities such as changes to the global chart of accounts, sets of books, entity
reporting hierarchies (Non-GAAP, US GAAP and IFRS), user access (security), consolidation mappings and other
processes/controls.
- Assist with the submission of IFRS consolidated financial statements and schedules to Vivendi SA
- Manage staff of one senior accountant.
- Manage external quarterly review and annual audit processes.
- Play a key role in global financial and accounting process improvements
- Participate as a key stake holder in future financial software implementations.
- Establish continuous monitoring controls, process/policy documentation and global checklists.
- Special projects as required.
- Perform other duties as required.
Educational Requirements:
* University degree (accounting/business economics/business accounting)
* CPA Accounting qualification
Special Knowledge, Skills:(Tools and Technology, Technical Skills)
* Good Analytics & ERP knowledge and experience in implementation of new Finance software
* Oracle, Hyperion and Discoverer experience preferred
* Strong & advanced excel skills
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Successful 5-7 years track record in a multinational company in the areas of head office level within reporting, consolidation and accounting
* Two to five years of month end close and consolidation experience required.
* Solid US GAAP knowledge, foreign GAAP and IFRS a plus
* Very precise and accurate working style
