Position Summary:
Kensington Technology, the technology division of ACCO Brands Corporation, one of the world\'s largest suppliers of branded office products, with annual revenues of nearly $2 billion is currently seeking a Global Product Manager. The Global Product Manager will be responsible for creating the global business plans, product line strategy and roadmap for our laptop, netbook and smartphone power products to ensure profitable category and market share growth. They will be accountable for global gross sales and profit for the power category. The right individual will demonstrate success in using an in-depth understanding of the global customers/end-users’ needs, the global marketplace and global competition to define new product direction and identify new business opportunities. They will also demonstrate the ability to lead in a team environment with product development, project management, regional sales and marketing, and senior leadership.
Responsibilities will include:
*
Lead global business planning and product strategy development/refinement for power category, identifying new opportunities where appropriate, to drive profitable growth. Analyzes current market situation, competition and customer requirements to define business and product portfolio strategy, identifying opportunities to drive competitive advantage, expand share and grow revenues.

Identifies new growth areas, new technologies and emerging opportunities for the power category. Promotes use of new technologies and industry leading trends to drive innovation.
*
Define the power category value proposition, including target customers and channels and market and product positioning
*
Develop global roadmap for power product portfolio, addressing the needs of portable and mobile end-users in a familiar, yet unaddressed way
*
Reviews regional category financials and business performance to objectives on a monthly basis; given business results, modify business plans, product strategies and roadmaps, as appropriate
*
Provide input into the establishment of the annual power category P&L
*
Develop an intimate understanding of the customer/end-user, channels and competitors globally. Use this knowledge to inform business plans, product strategies and roadmaps.
*
Understands and anticipate customers’ needs by conducting and analyzing formal and informal global market research and by actively seeking regular feedback from regional product marketing managers, vendors, salespeople, key customers and channel partners.
*
Develop a deep understanding of global channels and key Kensington channel partners, including channel and channel partner economics, by gathering data from channel partners directly and through regional product marketing managers and salespeople
*
Know global competitors inside and out, including their business models and global channel and product strategies
*
Integrates voice of the customer feedback (customer and channel) into business and portfolio strategies and product development plans.
*
Global Product Management for the power category portfolio, including recommendations for EOL and replacement of products on the roadmap.
*
Create MRDs which drive the product team to develop customer/end-user-focused product solutions. Ensure product solutions will take advantage of both market and share growth opportunities to drive beyond budgeted growth.
*
Drives voice of the customer and channel partner into product development
*
Ensure that developed products meet business strategic, market and profitability goals
*
Collaborates with development and key customers to create products and validate early product definitions.
*
Recommend launch pricing. Work with RPMs to understand regional pricing changes and adjust roadmaps accordingly, including driving product cost down actions with the operations and development teams.
*
Creates product content, marketing and sales tools for assigned categories.
*
Be the “Power Product Category Champion” within the organization, supporting regional product marketing managers and sales. Acts as company spokesperson with the press and key channel partners as required.
*
Develop global marketing strategies, including launch strategies and core positioning and messaging for product/product families, working with Sr GPM responsible for launch planning, regional product marketing and global marketing teams
*
Lead SKU rationalization process. Work with RPMs to develop regional EOL plans.
Position Qualifications:
* Minimum undergraduate degree in Business or Marketing. MBA preferred.
* Minimum of five+years experience as a global product or brand management in the technology industry.
* Experience working in the B2C market with the retail channel required.
* Strategic thinker with solid analytical skills
* Deep understanding of PC technology, with passion for technology and products
* Customer-Focused with a strong external market orientation
* Exceptional Planning and Organizational Skills, proven ability to establish and drive integrated business, product and market planning processes.
* Excellent Decision Making Skills – is a proactive problem solver with solid troubleshooting skills
* Excels at collaborating across a wide variety of departments and organizational levels (from executives to individuals)
* Results oriented – strong multi-tasking Skills for driving both daily results and establishing long tem plans
* Strong people leader with proven management skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to handle stressful situations and work in a fast paced ever-changing environment
* Basic PC systems skills--Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
* Ability to travel to worldwide Kensington locations, customers, channel partners and vendors: 10 – 20%
