Req Description The Inside Sales Account Manager will have responsibility for management, engagement and development of ABB?s unassigned installed base accounts in North America, and will report into ABB?s Power Generation Business Unit (also known as ?PSP-NAM? or ?the BU?).
The Inside Sales Representative will report directly to the Regional Sales Manager for the Power Generation North America Service Sales Organization, and will be responsible for the following:
? Proactively mine, develop, and expand the business relationships with your end-user customer account list. Within your assigned account list the Inside Sales Person will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:
o Educating your customers on ABB?s current control systems and the ABB Evolution Process.
o Promote and Advance
The Evolution Audit Initiative
Control System Upgrades
Field Service, Sentinel, and other support contracts
Service Grid Technical Support Solution
o Developing customer relationships (be more than just a voice on the phone).
o Identify and advance all project opportunities within your assigned account base with the Regional Sales Manager and Business Unit Team Members.
? Assist the Regional Sales Manager and other Business Unit Team Members in preparing the necessary information (MS-Power Point slides, MS-Excel spreadsheets, etc.) to support meetings with your customers and BU Management.
? Coordinate (and sometimes participate in) ?Lunch and Learn? seminars, demonstrations and various forms of sales support (e.g. technical, operational, marketing, etc.) under the direction of the Regional Sales Manager.
? Attend and support, (when required), the Business Unit?s successful participation in trade shows such as PowerGen, ISA, Automation & Power World, Relevant User?s Groups, etc.
? Contribute to and fully utilize ABB Branding, Global Marketing and Local Marketing Initiatives.
? Act as a conduit for proposal coordination (including terms and conditions) and order entry. Create original documentation, as necessary, that combines disparate sources of information into one cohesive selling document (including, but not limited to, qualification documents and requests for information).
? Manage your Target Projects database and all associated information through coordination with the Regional Sales Manager and Business Unit Team Members.
? Manage your Sales Forecast in ProSaM/ProSales, including but not limited to monthly updates, adding new pursuits, logging orders won and lost, report generation, etc.
? Use SPT and the Service Contracts & Approvals database for the creation, approval, and renewal of service projects and contracts.
? Complete various ad hoc assignments that allow the Business Unit to achieve its goals.
Education A minimum of a BS or BA degree is required. Engineering degree strongly preferred.
Interpersonal Skills Excellent written and oral communication skills are required
Work Experience ? Practical understanding of the control system market and what customers (Plant Owners) desire from a control systems vendor supplying state of the art technology and project engineering services.
? Power Generation, Automation and/or DCS experience is highly preferred.
? A minimum of 2+ years of experience in sales, proposals, or engineering.
? A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in sales, proposal or engineering in the power plant industry
? Must be willing to travel a minimum of 5 ? 15% (1 to 2 times per quarter).
