Position Summary:
ACCO Brands Inc., a leader in developing innovative business solutions and consumer office products, is seeking an Mechanical Design Engineerto join their Integrated Solutions Team working in tandem with ACCO’s print engine partners such as Canon, Xerox, Ricoh and Konica Minolta. This highly visible and critical design role on our team will provide key engineering support to Project Leaders and the Engineering Manager across the Integrated Solutions Team. Our team develops and manages the design and manufacturing for inline document finishing solutions.
This growth oriented position will provide a Jr. Mechanical Engineer an opportunity to work in an engineering-centric department that has provided ACCO Brands Inc. tremendaous growth and profitability. Position Qualifications:
Responsibilities:
* Executes and coordinates the implementation of a concept through all phases of development; proof of principle, alpha, beta, field-testing and production until the manufacturing and performance of the product meets expectations.
* Works with suppliers and other sources to solve specific technical requirements associated with a project. Comfortable managing across broad range of external and internal resources to achieve aggressive project goals.
* Strong aptitude for mechanical and electromechanical design utilizing CAD software to create, analyze and document designs.
* Utilizes strong creative and conceptual thinking skills to solve technical problems and achieve gains in product performance, cost, and reliability.
* Works closely with factory engineering teams, including offshore manufacturing partners to bring new products to commercialization. Travels as required to offshore manufacturing locations.
* Manages electronic engineering documentation and maintains at high quality level.
* Plan and direct the fabrication, assembly, troubleshooting and reliability testing of the concept being prototyped. Includes preparation of test plan, recording of data and a testsummary/report.
* Prepare clear and concise documents for presentation of data, test results, program status reports etc.
* MUST BE PROFICENT IN Solidworks software.
* Knowledge of Auto CAD and PRO- E is desired.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
* A minimum of 2 + years of related experience is required.
* Solidworks software proficiency is required.
* Solid understanding of design for manufacturability is required.
* Experience designing complex electro-mechanical devices with a background in digital printing is a major plus.
* Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proven success and ability to interface extensively with customers and development partners.
* Must have strong mathematical skills capable of making complex calculations. Must have good statistical knowledge and understand probability and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
* Strong analytical skills required:possess strong creativity skills and also be able to pragmatically solve real world problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
* Knowledge of Auto CAD and PRO- E desired.
* Must have general knowledge of design software and be proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel etc.).
