Job Descriptions:
The senior financial analyst will support the 3PAR R&D function located at Fremont, California. This individual will perform budgeting, forecasting, long-range financial planning, variance analysis and reporting, interpretation of quantitative information, financial modeling, and provide key decision support for upper management. This position will work directly with the 3PAR Engineering partners to understand their business needs and cost drivers and report them in a clear and concise manner.Major responsibilities include:
* Assist in the development of financial models, budgets, forecasts, and long range financial plan to support strategic initiatives.
* Assist in the month end accounting close process including the Capex reconciliation process.
* Initiate investigation of budget and forecast variances, cost trends and utilization patterns and perform analysis.
* Design analytical reports and prepare financial trend and data analysis reports.
* Identify operational impact from the analytical findings.
* Monitor compliance with policies and procedures related to GAAP accounting, financial management, and budget systems.
* Work autonomously but in collaboration with teammates and clients.
Required Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or 4 years of equivalent work experience. MBA or CPA preferred.
* A minimum of 4 years of financial planning and analysis experience with a strong demonstration of financial modeling, forecasting, and understanding of financial statements analysis.
* 4 years of analytical experience conducting account analysis, account reconciliations, and fundamental accounting transaction flows.
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
* Proficient in budgeting and reporting applications including Hyperion, Oracle, etc.
* Experience in a fast and growing technology/manufacturing industry.
* Experience in project accounting, budgeting, reporting, and improvement process.
