We are currently looking for a qualified Sr Principal Technical Consultant to join our Pre-Sales team at our Chicago, IL office.
Job Overview:
This position is responsible for developing and maintaining constant, cordial, and vigilant contact with multiple development teams within Business Units; providing deep subject-matter expertise in CA products or industry solutions; and working with Business Development Managers to support partner-related business opportunities.
This position may also have direct responsibility for managing technology partnerships. The ability to develop relationships within CA and with partners is critical to the success of this position. The position reports directly to the Director, Business Development; Sr. Director, Business Development or VP, Business Development.
Key Responsibilities:
. Serve as a key resource for technology-related activities across the Business Development organization for the top opportunities associated with the assigned business unit(s)
. Maintain deep technical knowledge of the products developed by the assigned business unit(s)
. Act as \'expert advisor and consultant\' within CA on partner\'s products, technologies and strategies
. Ensure regular, coordinated interaction with Business Development Managers and business units on in-process opportunities
. Effectively communicate CA and business unit technology and strategy to partners
. Review and ensure compliance with technical alliance agreements, such as Letters of Understanding, Development License Agreements, Statements of Work, and Non-Disclosure Agreements
. Assist Business Development Managers in qualifying CA-driven or partner-driven opportunities and their benefits to CA, customers, and partners
. Work closely with Business Development Managers, Business Units, and partners to develop needs assessments for new projects as required
. Understand the target customer and needs for joint solutions/programs and develop use cases to articulate solutions and value within CA and with partner organizations
. Execute complex product demonstrations and proofs of concept, customizing the as necessary to address specific opportunities
. Provide technical specifications and requirements documentation as necessary to support proposed solutions
. Ensure the successful hand off of the technical aspects of Business Development opportunities to the Business Units at the appropriate stage of maturity
. Effectively communicate joint product/solution strategies to customers as required
. Facilitate or support the installation of CA products in partner labs or partner products in CA labs
. Review joint collateral; particularly technical collateral and white papers
Business Travel:
Business travel of approximately 25 percent yearly is expected for this position.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor\'s Degree, Master\'s Degree or global equivalent preferably in a technical or IT related field
Work Experience:
. Typically 10 years of related industry experience with 5 or more years experience in a senior technical, business development/alliance management, product management or development role.
. Experience disciplines such as Security, Infrastructure Management, Service Management and related technologies.
. Experience resolving complex technical issues and integration of multiple products to create solutions is a must.
. Excellent written, analytical and business development skills to balance strategic thinking and execution of tactical activity including the ability to crisply communicate and present at an executive level.
. Innovative thinker, possess strong and effective planning, execution, presentation, communications, negotiations and multi-tasking skills and must be able to lead, review and execute multiple strategic projects and manage virtual teams.
. Proactive and entrepreneurial work style and possess a strong ability to think strategically and work without daily direction. Excellent leadership, organizational, project management, and collaboration skills as well as attention to detail are critical in this strategic position within CA.
. In-depth knowledge of given industry and relevant marketplace; can speak with authority, e.g., on industry trends, best practices, competitive practices, regulatory issues, etc.
