Position Summary:
ACCO Brands Corporation, one of the world’s largest suppliers of branded office products, with annual revenues of nearly $2 billion, is seeking a Product Development Engineering Manager, specializing in product development and the supporting business processes. This role will be responsible for driving and implementing processes, methodologies and metrics in product development resulting in superb product quality and consumer experience.
Responsibilities will include:
* Establish Platform Engineering expertise (knowledge, processes, tools and methodologies) that enables timely, solid and scalable solutions as it relates to physical communication products including boards, easels, marker solutions, erasers and accessories. This scope spans across commercial, retail and mass channels globally.
* Partner with marketing in gaining solid understanding of the consumer and customer needs and translating those into solid solutions along engineering specification encompassing engineering drawings, surface specifications, cost targets, BOM, process specifications and quality goals
* Provide leadership to the product development team in delivering the products on-time, on or below budget and on-scope at the established quality levels. Managing the implementation of the development utilizing offshore and onshore resources.
* Strict adherence to the Product Lifecycle Process and demonstrate delivery of performance goals through the stages of the development
* Generate and drive the generation of IP on surface materials, process engineering and design.
* Establish a VOC program that incorporates iterative improvement opportunities into engineering plans in order to increase quality and improve cost.
* Position has global responsibility.
Position Qualifications:
* The candidate will have 8+ years of product development in conjunction with quality management experience
* Bachelor degree in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Structural, Chemical or Materials Engineering required.
* Masters Degree is a plus.
* Proficiency in material science engineering, chemical engineering and structural systems.
* Experience and intimate understanding of quality processes and methodologies (TQM, Six Sigma, LEAN, Agile, DoE, FMEA) is required.
* Ability to work across cross-functional teams within the organization, including Sr. management.
* Strong leadership skills with proven record of achievement.
