principal duties and responsibilities provides technical direction/interpretation of design drawings and specification requirements as well as general guidance to subcontractors on overall design. providing subcontractors/craft with information and direction, as outlined within contract specifications, to allow work to proceed as scheduled. may perform as a field superintendent.
specific job requirements:
applicant shall have a minimum of 6 years experience in the construction management (and/or construction) including statrup/commissioning and inspection/quality assurance (and/or quality control) of high voltage electrical facilities including power generation, substation/switchyard and transmission/distribution facilities. adheres to safety and quality standards as appropriate for level of duties and accountabilities. may be performing project controls function on smaller, less complex projects. assignments will be scheduled to provide longer duration work, when possible.administers assigned subcontractor(s) for compliance with contract documents.
applicants shall have good verbal and written communication skills. applicants shall be able to be considered as \"qualified electrical persons\".experience with hydroelectric facilities is desirable but is not required. monitors technical service representative (supplier) daily logs and reviews/approves their timesheets. monitors construction activities for compliance with the cpm schedule. training, development and performance management of direct reports, may provide supervision.may be resposnible for diretcing startup effrots.

minimum qualifications 6+ years construction management experience in similar facility construction. coordinates with field subcontract administrator as needed. and responds to contractor information requests (cir)s, maintains records, reviews.etc, sfpuc, g. pg&e, smud, sce.directs and/or performs quantity take-offs as required to support construction planning and invoice approval. supports continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements.compiles and maintains conformed to construction records drawing and list markups as assigned, or directs field engineering staff in this regard. may sign off on field designs or re-designs performed in the field. may negotiate back charges and other issues in coordination with site manager. prepares and issues extra work authorization requests (rfmps/was) with the approval of the project field manager. nicet or other certification is a plus but is not required, ibew.establishes site document control activities for design documents. assists field quality assurance manager in performing inspections and verification of tests.
